After looking at a new iPhone and the S10e today, I have decided that most flagships are far too expensive. Anyone using a 7T or a 7 Pro and have opinions on them? I also have been told to look into a Nokia that would hopefully work?

I have a OnePlus 7T and it's pretty great. The camera is good, the software is good and the quality seems to be good as well. And the price is easy to swallow.

I loved my OnePlus 6 and was really disappointed  that I couldn’t bring it with me when I switched to Verizon (Verizon compatible radios didn’t come until the 6t). I will be buying another OnePlus when my iPhone XS is paid off.

Look the LG G8x Thinq. I just got one, good specs. You can get a dual screen model too, the dual screen is case. You can still pop the phone out of it to use it as a normal phone.

Yeah, I dig it. But the Pro is $100 something cheaper and I don’t know if the difference in specs is worth the price increase.

Pixel 3a?

I like OnePlus. Basically at this point anyone who asks me what phone to get I suggest OnePlus or Pixel and that’s it.

I’d rather have the 7T. I disliked the curved screen on the Galaxy S7 Edge that I briefly owned and that’s a “feature” I’d prefer not to revisit.

Not sure what network technology the carriers use up there in Canuckistan but Nokia is GSM only and doesn’t work on the former CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint here in the states. The 7.2 is a pretty decent phone but unless you can get it for real cheap the Pixel 3a lineup is probably a better choice. You could maybe also look at Motorola, they do nice clean Android but suck at software updates.

There are also halfway decent discounts on the Pixel 4' s where they’re not much more than OnePlus at the moment.

I’d like something with more than 64 gigs of internal storage, which is a no-go for the 3a.

I have a 6t and am pretty happy with it, whereas after a year with my s7 I was ready to smash it with an excavator. I can only imagine the newer models would be even better, my main critique is the in-display fingerprint scanner but face unlock works pretty well most of the time.

I a ctually just got the S10e after Thanksgiving for $450. I love it other than missing the way Google does android on my old Pixel 1. S10e still has regular headphone jack, 128gb internal and supports external (I got 128gb for $15), plus it's basically the same size as my pixel 1 with a much bigger screen. Still getting used to some things but overall I think it was a great value purchase.

My thing is that they’re asking $20 for 24 months, and if I break contract, it’s an additional $640. Plus paying $100-something in taxes upfront. So... not the most onboard for that.

Is that a Canadian thing? Pretty sure we can just buy any phone right out, unlocked, and then get your wireless carrier to transfer to that sim.

You can, but paying $1100 for a phone outright hurts. A lot of our providers offer payment plans on top of your phone plan.

Jesus an S10e is 1100? I thought I saw one for around $800 CAD

Straight from Samsung, $870. Which seems less bad, but still not great, since I haven’t been the biggest fan of Samsung’s software.

I agree on the software, especially since my pixel was so nice coming from Samsung before. But expandable storage is more important to me now as I hate wasting data to download something from the cloud. I take a lot if pic s and videos and for $100 more I could have a total of 640gb on a freaking phone. That's more than my laptop lol

I picked up a Samsung S10+ 512GB about 2 months ago on Swappa . It was listed as used, but shipped to me wholly flawless, with a glass screen protector, two cases, and a wireless charger for $60 0. I do rather love that it still has an SD card slot and headphone jack.

I ditched Samsung a few years ago (my last one was the sort of Pixel-precursor Galaxy Nexus), but decided to go back after a string of bad luck with LG (of my G2, G4, G6, and G Watch, only the G2 lasted). So far, it’s been a great purchase. I last unplugged my phone 14 hours ago, and have used it regularly throughout the day, with still 64% battery life remaining.

I have very little experience with OnePlus devices, but the few folks I know that have them swear by them. I’m on Verizon, and I believe they are fairly new to being compatible with the VZW network. But on AT&T, I’ve heard very good things.

My friend owns a oneplus 7 pro, and he absolutely loves it. The screen is better than any iphone or Samsung and the pop out selfie cam is pretty cool. It charges incredibly fast. The only thing missing is wireless charging, but it is a wonderful phone and tops all of it's more expensive competitors in most fields.

I’d even step down to the Galaxy A series if you aren’t looking for anything powerful, they’re more than enough phone for most people . Koodo has the A70 right now for $360. Too bad they closed the buy-then-cancel loophole though.

I have a OnePlus 6 Red. I love it, except the preinstalled screen protector was crap scratched the protector within a week and it was peeling after 1 year.

I have a 6t replacing my old 3t. Love it. It’s not perfect but no phone is, at least this one was the right price.
